My kit. Looks like a bunch of random stuff, but it is all the wood for the wing and steel tube for the fuselage.

First leading edge spar laid up and glued. This picture just shows the layup. I have wax paper under all the glue joints now, just no picture of that step. Build one more in reverse, and then on to the rears. Goes pretty fast if you work steady and stop daydreaming. Wink

NIce looking pile of Sitka. Spar jig looking awesome. The woodworking part I get, but the TIG welding for the fuselage...

^^^I'll actually be using acetylene gas for the welding. The reason being that it pre-heats the weld area before any actual weld takes place, thus making the weld less brittle. I could TIG, but don't have one handy, and I'd have to pre-heat every weld joint before TIG'ing.

No mig welding then.

Heating all the joints to relieves stress?

Big Ben was in my area today!!!! He's on vacation with his wife. He called and stopped by for a few hours.

Great to see you and your wife!!

Ps. No squarebacks in your future, or full size gmc trucks, your too tall for them. Scott hall don't even think about it!!
Andy In Modesto

Maybe Subaru parts could fix it?
