I applaud his effort. It appears well done. But all that would have been better suited in a curved window super beetle ala German-Look.
And those wheels widened like that make me want to scream " NASCARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! "
Kinda like a Herbie goes to Monte Carlo or that god awful new Herbie with Lindsey Lohan. |

I think that it looked much better before the widened wheels. But its not my car, and badass none the less.

400 ft-lbs of torque in bug can't be a bad thing.
I was this >< close to putting the same engine in my bus. The length of time it would take to sort it all out and the $$ investment required eventually changed my mind. Maybe sometime in the future but I opted for a Type IV instead. Can't wait to get it on the road. |

| That car is great! Looks good, love the super wide wheels and all.....Maybe I'm just getting tired of the same cal-look on every car. Nice to see something well-constructed with a different style. |

That young man is on a par with the big boys. If he is trying to impress-mission accomplished!
That said-aircooled is cool due to the challenge involved in making power with 1940s technology. The simplicity of it gives it an appeal unmatched by anything more cutting edge. Still, when someone comes out with a flux capacitor that runs on garbage, I'll be in line to strap one into a Bug! |

No doubt, Creig! Wish I could have hooked up with you to see yours when I was in GJ, but had a friend with me from back east for his first trip to Fruita and the riding took over. Next time.
Here's the dyno sheet from Jake, I think it'll be great but I'm already wishing I'd have gone for the 3-liter....kidding...kinda.

| i agree 100% with franz. i can only see the same thing in a different color so many times. i love the car. its no hack job. i like the wheels and the fact that it still looks factory. i understand some people want a VW motor in a VW, but once in a while something different is always (i guess not always lol) a good thing. |

I rarely get this excited about stuff, but this bus has me pissing my pants. It's been a long time coming! |
